How i got into equine photography
Growing up at the barn, I’ve always had horses in my life. My mom is a hunter trainer, and from a young age, I was surrounded by the equestrian world, spending my days riding, working at the barn, and attending local horse shows. It was during these shows that my passion for photography first sparked. I began taking photos on a flip phone during lessons, capturing moments that were close to my heart. What started as a hobby quickly grew into a lifelong passion.
At 16, I had the opportunity to photograph for Joan Petty at Triangle Farms, which opened the door to professional equine photography. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of capturing the beauty of the bond between horses and riders at various levels, from local shows to national competitions.
Am i still showing?
Even as my photography career grew, I’ve continued to show and travel with our show barn. Balancing both passions has been a dream come true, and I feel incredibly blessed to have a job that allows me to do what I love—whether it’s behind the lens or in the saddle. Every day, I’m grateful to be a part of the equestrian world and to share its incredible moments with others.
Where do i see my business in 10 years?
In 10 years, I see myself traveling more and expanding my reach, photographing horse and rider portraits at bigger shows across the country. While I’m excited about growing beyond my local shows, I’ll always remain loyal to the James B. Hunt Horse Complex, where I’ve built many meaningful connections. My goal is to become more recognized in some of the larger equestrian states and continue capturing the beauty and dedication of riders and horses at all levels.
Every day, I strive to improve my craft, always learning, evolving, and pushing myself to become a better photographer. I look forward to embracing new opportunities, capturing more breathtaking moments, and continuing to share my love for equine photography with the world.
More pictures of me, my dogs, my ponies and my life outside of photography—because there’s always more to my story behind the lens
